WRITER PhILOSOPHY and Accomplishments

Comedy Writer with Purpose

Laughter opens the heart before the truth walks in

Foundation at Iconic Comedy Club: The Improv

My comedy career began at one of the nation’s most iconic comedy institutions, where I worked as Box Office Manager, Talent Wrangler, and coordinator of weekly comedian marketing through venue signage and website content. Comedy as resilience: Through relationships with comedians, I learned that people do not always laugh because life is easy; sometimes they laugh because humor helps them carry what is difficult.

Broadcast Writing Experience

At STAR 94.5 in Orlando, part of the Cox Media Group radio cluster, I wrote promotional copy and live event content. National radio and live entertainment: At Reach Media, Inc. and The Tom Joyner Morning Show, I collaborated with Tom Joyner and the show’s producers on marketing campaigns, on-air comedy bits, live event scripts, comedic prompts, and talent material for events.. Community-centered comedy: I witnessed Tom entertaining millions while engaging communities. It strengthened my belief that comedy can be joyful, socially relevant, and meaningful at the same time.

A Comedy that Normalizes Grief:

Award-winning Comedy Feature Script:

A Comedy that Normalizes Grief:

Won the Literary Award in the TeCo Theatrical Productions New Playwriting Competition in Dallas for my play Grieve: Simon Bishop Presiding.

It uses humor to normalize grief while honoring the courage required to choose purpose-driven work.

The project has since been adapted into a feature screenplay and television pilot.

Comedy and Civic Participation:

Award-winning Comedy Feature Script:

A Comedy that Normalizes Grief:

I wrote and performed a comedic Spotify campaign encouraging voter participation during the 2020 U.S. presidential election, using humor to make civic engagement approachable and memorable.

Comedy and Civic Participation:

Comedy, history, and voting rights: I wrote the stage play It Bears Repeating, recently featured at Inglewood’s Willie Agee Playhouse in Los Angeles, California and The Wells Built Museum of African American Culture in Orlando, Florida. The play follows a Black man who believes voting no longer matters until his wife traps him overnight in an African American history museum, where he encounters people who sacrificed to secure voting rights from the post-Reconstruction era through the Civil Rights Movement.

Vision for the Future:

I aspire to create bold, emotionally honest, and socially relevant comedy that leaves audiences laughing, thinking, healing, and feeling less alone.
